Mosaic Film Experience, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering underrepresented youth through storytelling, today announced the appointment of three new members to its board of directors and the formation of its advisory board.

With nearly 500 students from 17 West Michigan high schools in attendance, the 2023 Mosaic Event was a resounding success thanks to the invaluable participation of our teachers and students, presenters, sponsors, and volunteers.

On the evening of November 3, the Grand Rapids Art Museum was transformed with the spirit of funk at the inaugural Purple Party hosted by the Mosaic Film Experience. Our inaugural FUNKRAISER, a dynamic follow-up to our impactful 12th annual Mosaic Event on November 2, brought together music lovers, philanthropists, and changemakers to celebrate student voices and career development.

The Mosaic Mobile film competition is a platform for student filmmakers to showcase their talents and creativity using only their mobile devices. This year, Mosaic Film Experience shines the spotlight on first place Mosaic Mobile winner Nuha Hussein, a junior at East Kentwood High School.

We once again demonstrated our commitment to reshaping education and career paths with a memorable classroom visit at Grand Rapids University Prep Academy by San Francisco's Cass Taylor and Hollywood's Phillip Boutte, Jr. The visit embodies our dedication to revolutionizing educational pathways and career opportunities in the creative industries.

Welcome to the vibrant world of Mosaic Mobile, our annual filmmaking contest revolutionizing student storytelling. High school students from across West Michigan unleashed their creativity by crafting 2- to 3-minute short films entirely on their mobile devices.

On a crisp November morning, the theaters of Celebration! Cinema North were buzzing with energy as 445 students from 17 West Michigan high schools gathered for the 12th annual Mosaic Event. More than a conference, the annual event is a catalyst for change, empowering underrepresented youth to harness the power of storytelling to open doors to creative and emergent careers.

The Mosaic Film Experience, a nonprofit educational platform that empowers underrepresented youth to explore emerging and creative careers through the power of storytelling, will host its first-ever Purple Party on Friday, November 3, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Grand Rapids Art Museum, 101 Monroe Center St NW.
