Partnerships with purpose.
Communities thrive when young people are ready, capable, and eager to shape what comes next. Industries grow stronger when they draw on diverse voices and fresh perspectives. And for families, it comes down to something simple: knowing real opportunity is within reach for their kids.
Community Partnerships customize Mosaic Education programs to align with a partner's industry and goals, creating meaningful, real-world experiences that engage youth and connect students to relevant career pathways and meaningful social causes.
Community Partnerships create experiences that reach well beyond the classroom — strengthening teachers, energizing local communities, and building the talent pipelines industries depend on. When young people are given the tools to tell their stories, everyone benefits.
It's not a question of ability. It's a question of access.
Purpose of Community Partnerships
Through Community Partnerships, Mosaic translates its storytelling model into meaningful, real-world experiences that connect students to foundations, nonprofit organizations, and corporations to expand career awareness and create shared value for both students and partners.
They also provide an opportunity to build our Career Pathways pipeline with alumni Mosaic education students, Mosaic Mobile winners, and event attendees coming back to expand our programming by sharing their talents. These alumni help authentically engage the next generation through student-created storytelling projects and meaningful career exposure opportunities.
You're not just building a talent pipeline; you're investing in communities, amplifying underrepresented voices, and demonstrating the kind of genuine impact that resonates far beyond a press release.

Newman's Own Foundation:
Nourishing Narratives
Mosaic Film Experience, an award-winning nonprofit educational platform that empowers students to explore emerging and creative careers through the power of storytelling, today announced the launch of Nourishing Narratives: Cultivating Youth Stories For Change, a mobile film competition that will spotlight, support, connect, and amplify emerging youth and their visions for food justice. Nourishing Narratives is supported by Newman's Own Foundation, the private grantmaking foundation started by legendary actor Paul Newman.
“Paul Newman believed deeply in nourishing and transforming the lives of children and that mission continues to guide our work today. Through Nourishing Narratives, we're proud to elevate youth voices on food justice and to partner with Mosaic Film Experience to bring these important stories and student storytellers to the forefront of national conversations.”

In our third year partnering with The West Michigan Center for Arts + Technology (WMCAT) and Gorilla, we collaborated with the biannual Project 1 by ArtPrize, Carbon Stories, and WMCAT's Idea:Lab students to create a video project to support and promote the first Project 1 theme and site locations. In 2019, the inaugural Project 1 featured five world-renowned artists, considering how access and boundaries, both visible and invisible, affect our sense of belonging.

LearnOnOne Media:
Namibia Student Project
11 Namibian youth ages 14 to 18 turned their mobile phones into powerful storytelling tools during The Power of We, a three-day immersive filmmaking workshop hosted December 4–7 at Future Media Studios in Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia.
Presented by Mosaic Film Experience, LearnOnOne, and Future Media, the program equipped students with mobile filmmaking skills, exposure to digital media careers, and the opportunity to learn from local and international professionals.
Students from West Michigan Center for Arts + Technology's (WMCAT) Video Production 2 class earned national recognition as Silver Winners in the 45th Annual Telly Awards for their behind-the-scenes video on a youth mental wellness exhibit. The student-led project was developed by the Mosaic Film Experience.
The short film documents the making of “Weathering Emotions,” an interactive exhibit at the Grand Rapids Children's Museum designed to help children and families weather life's storms by exploring emotional health through the lens of weather. The exhibit was created in memory of Kimberly Mutch Bergner by Vonnie Woodrick, founder of the nonprofit i understand, in collaboration with a team of local artists and advocates.

Students from four Grand Rapids high schools have planned, directed, shot, and produced “Breathe,” a public service announcement (PSA) in support of the Friends of Grand Rapids Parks and Grand Rapids Mayor Rosalynn Bliss' Mayor's Greening Initiative, launched to help the city reach its goal of a 40 percent tree canopy.

“One of our goals is to generate conversation about what art is and why it matters. For Project 1, we've identified the theme of crossed line and addressing the question of what it means to belong.”
