Mosaic Film Experience Now Accepting Applications for Youth Advisory Council

Mosaic Film Experience is now accepting applications for its Youth Advisory Council, a creative leadership program designed to empower high school students across West Michigan through storytelling, digital media, and real-world project experience.

The council is open to high school students who are passionate about digital media, storytelling, or career exploration, and who are committed to diversity and inclusion. Council members will help shape Mosaic’s signature programs, including the annual Mosaic Event and Mosaic Mobile film competitions, while building creative portfolios that support future college and career goals.

“The Youth Advisory Council is a chance for students to lead, collaborate, and explore their own potential through creativity, critical thinking, and real-world experience,” said Skot Welch, Founder and President of Mosaic Film Experience. “Their participation is helping design the experiences that inspire and prepare their peers for future careers.”

Council members will attend four core meetings throughout the year and serve as youth ambassadors for Mosaic Film Experience, representing their schools and communities while collaborating with professionals and peers.

In addition to influencing Mosaic’s event themes, visual direction, and educational content, participants will build skills in media literacy, storytelling, and content creation through hands-on workshops and discussions with national and local mentors.

To apply, students must complete a short digital application, submit a teacher recommendation, and upload a brief video explaining why they want to join. Optional creative samples, such as video projects, photography, or event ideas, may be submitted to strengthen applications.

The deadline to apply is January 23, 2026. For more information or to apply, visit: https://www.mosaicfilmexperience.com/youth-advisory-council.
