ABC4: Mosaic Film Experience educates aspiring artists

At Mosaic Film Experience, students are invited to attend lectures on a variety of topics — including artificial intelligence, improvisation, camera technology and other filmmaking techniques.

“I love bringing (students) here every year,” Marcy Hanley, a West Michigan art teacher, said. “It helps them see that art is important, it does matter and there are real jobs they can do.”

With featured guest speakers, like concept artist and costume designer Phillip Boutté Jr., students can hear from industry professionals who come from a diversity of backgrounds.

“We think that diversity in storytelling, and informing that with really talented creatives, is something that makes our industry so much more rich,” Emily Loeks, director of communications and public relations at Celebration Cinema, said.
