Nonprofits to host community film screening with talkback

The Mosaic Film Experience and the Kaufman Interfaith Institute will host a one-time community film screening of Mission: Joy – Finding Happiness in Troubled Times. Consisting largely of never-before-seen footage shot over five days at the Dalai Lama's residence in Dharamsala, Mission: Joy – Finding Happiness in Troubled Times invites viewers to join these luminaries behind the scenes as they recount stories from their lives, each having lived through periods of incredible difficulty and strife. The community film screening will take place Thursday, November 3, at 7 p.m. at Celebration Cinema Studio Park, 123 Ionia Ave SW.

“We often associate joy as the act of being happy or merely having a positive outlook. Mission: Joy is a laugh-out-loud, yet deeply moving film, that reminds us that everyone will experience troubles in life, but true joy can often be found in our journey of working through adversity,” said Skot Welch, founder, Mosaic Film Experience.

The film screening will feature a Q&A between Welch and award-winning, New York City-based photographer Jane Feldman who will discuss her time photographing the two icons.A former New York City fashion photographer and producer, Jane’s dedication to human rights led her to international projects with Amnesty International and to portraits of former South African president, Nelson Mandela, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The Mosaic Film Experience is a nonprofit educational platform that empowers youth through creative thinking, experiential learning and 21st century career skills.Tickets for the community film screening of Mission: Joy – Finding Happiness in Troubled Times can be purchased online for $10.https://secure.givelively.org/event/mosaic-film-experience/mosaic-community-film-screening-mission-joy
