MFE: What is MUV?
CR: We are an audiovisual studio that blends narrative and code to tell stories. Essentially, we are people trying to communicate our client’s feelings and messages by creating art that is mixed with technology. Our CEO, Gabriela Acosta, always says that MUV stands out for its visionary way of understanding how creativity can unfold through technology.
MFE: What are some of the notable clients that MUV has worked with?
CR: We have had the opportunity to work with many big companies, like Google, BestDay, Mercedes Benz, and Adidas. We are constantly trying to innovate and create cool experiences for our clients and their customers.
MFE: Tell us a little bit about your background and career journey after graduating from high school.
CR: I have always been passionate about design and computers. My father is a graphic designer, so that sparked my interest in studying digital media. When I finished High School, I studied animation in college.
MFE: What advice do you have for high school students who are thinking about pursuing a digital media career?
CR: Digital media is a really big industry, so if you find something that you’re passionate about, you can adapt it to the industry. I expect the industry to continue growing in the future, so there are many exciting career opportunities for students.
MFE: What advice do you have for high school students who do not know what they want to do after high school?
CR: Don’t rush into the first thing that comes to your mind or do something that your family tells you. Take time to think about what you’re passionate about.
MFE: What are you looking forward to sharing with students at the 2020 Mosaic Event?
CR: I want to provide students with a look at my career and journey. I want to let them know that Chief of Production is a possibility for them. I’m excited to share highlights from my 10 years of industry experience and discuss the many exciting areas of my career.
MFE: How has COVID-19 impacted your work?
CR: MUV had the opportunity to work on a 360 VR documentary during the COVID-19 lockdown. The project is about the resilience that our community has displayed during the global pandemic, how people from different sectors and backgrounds have been affected by COVID-19 and their thoughts about the future.
